Loba Wood Floor Stain – Various Colors – 1 qt.

For the professional coloring of wood floors. Compatible with all LOBA water-based sealers and finishes.

• Recommended conditions are 55°F – 80°F/40 – 75%rH.
• Sand and prepare floors according to NWFA guidelines.
• WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint from wood floors, you may release lead dust. Follow local and/or federal requirements for lead removal. • ALWAYS PREPARE A SAMPLE OR TEST AREA TO DETERMINE COMPATIBILITY, APPEARANCE, AND DESIRED RESULTS.
• Shake or mix material well before use. A LOBA mixing paddle and drill can be used for mixing.
• If you need more than one can for larger surfaces, the entire quantity of stain required should be mixed in a large container prior to commencing work.
• Do not thin. Do not add water.
• Do not apply at temperatures below 55°F (13°C). Make sure material is at room temperature. Always maintain adequate ventilation during all phases of the coating and drying process.
• Apply evenly at the recommended coverage rate. Avoid streaks, puddles, and lap marks.
• DO NOT APPLY LOBA STAIN COUNTRY WHITE ON WHITE OAK.

Application Tool

Lint free cloth or buffer with LOBASAND normal pad white (white driver pad) or equivalent.

Coverage

Approx. 150 – 250 square feet per quart (depending on wood species and openness of grain).

Drying Time

• Earliest possible finish application after 1 hour, at 70°F/ 50% rH.
• If you have water-popped your floor prior to stain application, ensure the moisture content has returned to normal. This can best be achieved by testing moisture level before water-popping the floor.
• Very humid conditions ( > 60% rH) and limited air exchange in the space may extend the dry time.
• Applying water-based sealers or finishes too early could extend the total cure time of the finish.

Recommended Procedure for Wood Floors

• For three coat LOBA system:
  • Prepare surface according to NWFA guidelines.
  • Apply LOBA Stain by desired method.
  • Drying time of min. 1 hour.
  • Apply LOBA water-based sealer (EasyPrime or VivaPrime) or self-sealing LOBA finish.
  • Allow to dry completely (refer to the Technical Data Sheet of the sealer or finish for drying time).
  • Apply LOBA water-based finish.
  • Allow to dry completely (refer to the Technical Data Sheet of the finish for drying time).
  • Perform inter-coat abrasion with a buffer and LOBASAND 180 grit perforated pad. Vacuum floor then tack/ clean using a LOBA Mop and a new/ clean LOBA microfiber mop pad lightly dampened with water to remove all dust.
  • Apply final coat of LOBA water-based finish.
• Pro Tips:
  • When using brown and darker LOBA Stain colors, a more intense, richer color can be achieved by using LOBA Amberizer in the sealer.
  • Woods with high tannin content (example: White Oak) can affect the color.
  • LOBA finishes that are approved as two coat systems for residential settings (2K InvisibleProtect, Hybrid) MUST both be applied with the LOBA Roller ‘Deluxe 120’ over LOBA Stain. Too little finish on the first coat increases the risk of removing stain color when performing inter-coat abrasion.
